Yoga For Everyone

What do you do in the Yoga For Everyone class?

Emma’s class starts with a period of relaxation so that you can let the stresses of the day slip away. You then practice breathing exercises to help you breathe more easily and fully and strengthen your diaphragm. The class then follows a series of yoga poses that take you through every part of the body. This is followed by calming breathing exercises before ending with deeply relaxing yoga nidra.

Emma truly believes in the restorative powers of yoga for body and mind and her classes are designed to ensure each of her students gets the maximum benefit they can from each class, so if you fall asleep during relaxation (it does happen!) you obviously needed it! If you are at an advanced level of yoga, Emma will ensure she provides exercises to ensure you are challenged and motivated. And if you are simply new to yoga, Emma will guide and support you (quite literally) as you perform your very first poses.

What day are your Yoga For Everyone classes?

Our Yoga For Everyone classes run weekly on a Monday, throughout the year, including the Summer break.

We may or may not run classes during school half term and Easter, but you will be told well in advance.

Mum and Baby Yoga

What do you do in Mum and Baby Yoga?

Mum and Baby Yoga (or Postnatal Yoga as it is sometimes known) is a special time when you can really connect with your baby, as well as begin to heal your body after the birth.

Mother and baby yoga promotes healing, teaches baby massage skills and also encourages you both to have fun together.

In addition to this it also builds your baby’s strength and co-ordination through songs and movement.

After the class we adjourn to the cafe for cake and tea and some socialising!

What age does my baby need to be to start Mum and Baby Yoga?

You and your baby are welcome to join us as soon as your baby is 6 weeks old.

Mum and baby yoga is designed for babies who are not yet fully mobile, though we have welcomed babies as old as one year. You will need to assess whether your baby will happily engage with you on the floor for the class ( you may be surprised at how many babies do).

What day is Mum and Baby Yoga?

Our Mum and Baby classes run in seasonal block courses rather than every week at this time. They usually run on a Tuesday Morning from 10.00am – 11.30am for 8 weeks at a time.

Check our class schedule or calendar to find out if we have a course running or when our next course starts.

What if my baby cries?

All babies cry – we understand. Every one of us in the class is a mum, so if you baby isn’t settling, don’t panic, just take some time out to soothe them and come back and join the class again when you are ready.

If your baby falls asleep, come and join in on your own. The class is for both of you, so there will be plenty for you do to if they do.

What if my baby needs to be fed?

All babies need to be fed, so don’t worry. If you need to sit out to feed your baby, you can still sit and watch and learn from other mums as they practice baby massage, bonding and gentle exercise. You can then practice it at home if you want!

We are sure next week it will be someone else sitting and watching while you enjoy bonding and exercising with your baby.

I′ve had a c-section does this mean I can′t join?

Absolutely not!

As with all mums recovering from childbirth, all you need to do is consult your health care provider for guidance before starting the course.

Dunkerton, Bath BA2 8BG, UK
