Monday
Support your body, relax your mind, nourish your soul with our Yoga with Yoga Nidra class

Support your body, relax your mind, nourish your soul.
Perfect for all levels, Yoga for Everyone is a hatha based yoga class with an additional half hour of deep yoga nidra relaxation. It’s suitable for complete beginners and the most inflexible, as well as athletes, and those with an already established yoga practice, with every exercise adaptable to suit the individual.
Emma in a Yoga Alliance senior yoga teacher, who trained in 2010 with the Sivananda Yoga organisation and then did further training across a wide range of yoga disciplines. Her classes combine her knowledge and experience to create a class that works on every part of the body in synergy with the breath, as well as focusing and relaxing the mind. Emma’s classes will improve your flexibility, strength, balance, body awareness, concentration and stress levels.

Tuesday
Breathing Optimisation is suitable for everyone and no prior knowledge of yoga breathing techniques is needed. Get ready to improve your lung function, breathing techniques and overall wellbeing.

Whether you’re a freediver wanting more out of water training opportunities, an elite athlete looking for ‘marginal gains’, someone struggling with stress or anxiety, someone recovering from a lung infection, someone dealing with breathing issues, or a musician, Emma’s Breathing Optimisation classes will increase your lung function, improve your flexibility, build your confidence, and enhance your bodies ability to utilise oxygen.
In 2010, Emma was invited by UK Sport to help Olympic athletes improve their performance in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games. She developed a programme using techniques from freediving, yoga, and the Buteyko method and started working with an Olympic cyclist. After six weeks of taking Emma’s programme, the full time athlete gained a 10 percent improvement in her lung function, improved her asthma, increased her confidence, and her Olympic cycle was brought forward by four years. Since then, over the last decade, Emma has rolled her programme out to Olympic and Paralympic swimmers with great success. Now she shares her knowledge and expertise with twice weekly classes designed to be accessible to everyone, no matter their health, age or fitness.

Wednesday (NO CLASSES RUNNING AT PRESENT)
Pregnancy Yoga classes are a supportive space where you can ask questions, bond with your baby, and gain deep rest. Absolutely no prior knowledge of yoga is needed.

Emma’s evening pregnancy yoga class is suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy onward. The hour and a half class covers breathing exercises designed to prepare you for labour and birth, yoga poses to alleviate common pregnancy conditions and keep the body comfortable as it changes, pelvic floor exercises, and a half hour yoga nidra practice at the end of the class. The Breathing Optimisation Classes are based on the programme Emma devised for Olympic and Paralympic athletes across cycling and swimming, and have been used successfully since 2010. The exercises are designed to teach you how to breathe fully and efficiently, improve CO2 tolerance, increase breath hold capacity, increase Vital Capacity, decrease Residual Volume and improve diaphragm flexibility. Emma’s program uses techniques from yoga, freediving and the Buteyko method, and have been proven to improve lung function and performance.
